Welcome to Beyond the Void! Beyond the Void is a text-based interpretation of EverQuest, combining the nostalgia of MUDs with the immersive mechanics of the EverQuest world. Built on the LDMud MUD driver, Beyond the Void incorporates the core systems of EverQuest using a ported version of the EQEMU server code and the ProjectEQ database.

What to Expect: Beyond the Void is strongly inspired by the EverQuest experience, including:

Zones and NPCs, ensuring a familiar world to explore.
Quests and Interactions.
Combat and Progression tailored for a text-based environment.

However, being a MUD, there are differences:

Text-Based Gameplay: Descriptions and commands replace visuals, requiring your imagination and input.
Enhancements: Some systems may offer streamlined mechanics or additional features to complement the text-based nature.
Adaptations: Certain graphical elements are reinterpreted for the MUD format.

..AND with new modern features to improve quality of life:

MULTICLASSING!: Select up to 3 classes.
Fast regen: Automatically meditate and fast regenerate HP and Mana after being out-of-combat.
Equipment updates: Discover enhanced versions of classic equipment.
Suspended buffs: Beneficial buffs are suspended and do not need to be recast due to timers.
Improved spell management: Easily browse, cast, and manage spells without the need of a spellbook or spell gems.
Command alias: Define your own shortcuts to reduce typing and speed up frequent actions. Like macros, but better.
Quests: Improved questing with less restrictions.
Free trade: All equipment can be traded unless it's soulbound.

Getting Started:

Communicate: Use 'chat hi!' to introduce yourself and tell and say to talk to other players.
Movement: Use cardinal directions (e.g., north, east) to explore zones.
Navigation: Running is essential. Type 'run' to list landmarks and reachable zone lines.
Newbie Zones: Read 'help race guides', then use 'run <landmark>' and

   'run zone <name>' to follow your race's route to its first hunting area.

Interaction: Type commands like look, say, target, or attack to engage with the NPCs.
Inventory: Use inventory or 'i' to see your belongings, and equip/unequip <item> to prepare for battle.
Help System: Type help <topic> for detailed guidance on commands, mechanics, or lore.
Important free spells: Origin and Into the Void (see help void).
