Command Reference
Tasks
Command reference: This page documents the in-game tasks command.
Tasks
Tasks are structured objectives that can be assigned by NPCs (or manually, if needed). They are tracked automatically as you play.
Syntax:
task
tasks
task info <task_id>
task assign <task_id>
task abandon <task_id>
read board
refresh stories
accept story <number>
forego story <number>
What each command does:
task / tasks
Shows your current active tasks, progress for each activity, and completed tasks.
task info <task_id>
Shows detailed info about a specific task: title, description, level range,
repeatability, and each objective.
task assign <task_id>
Attempts to assign a specific task to you (must pass normal requirements such as
level range, enabled status, and repeatability rules).
task abandon <task_id>
Fails and removes an active task from your active list.
read board
In the Void, shows generated story tasks from the story board.
refresh stories
In the Void, redraws the generated story task offers.
accept story <number>
Accepts one generated story task from the Void story board.
forego story <number>
Removes one generated story task offer from your current Void story board.
How progress works:
Progress updates automatically from gameplay events, including:
- Killing required NPCs
- Looting or collecting required items
- Trading required items to NPCs
- Speaking required phrases to NPCs
- Entering required zones
- Touching/using required doors or objects
- Fishing and tradeskill objectives (when used by task data)
Target names:
Task objectives show readable names when available.
Tips:
1. Use `task` often to check what step is currently active.
2. If an NPC offers multiple possible tasks, the system will assign one valid task.
3. For general quest interaction basics (hail/say/trade), read `help quests`.
