Level Guide
LEVEL GUIDE, LEVELS 1 THROUGH 50 -------------------------------
These are suggestions, not requirements. If enemies are too hard, try an earlier area, improve your equipment, or bring allies. Dungeons have dense spawns and better loot, but crowd control and reliable healing matter more.
TRAVEL BASICS -------------
Use 'run' to list landmarks and zone lines. Use 'run zone', followed by a zone name, to travel to a zone line. For example: run zone commonlands.
Touch Void Stones as you find them. From the Void, use 'touch rift' to list known destinations. Enter a zone name and stone number to travel. For example: enter commonlands 1.
The Rift grants these useful destinations automatically by level:
At level 1: Commonlands.
At level 30: City of Mist.
At level 35: The Hole.
At level 45: Sebilis.
At level 47: Ssraeshza Temple.
WHERE TO HUNT -------------
Levels 1 through 5
Your race's outdoor newbie zone: Greater Faydark, Field of Bone, Nektulos,
Misty Thicket, Innothule, Feerrott, Toxxulia, Everfrost, or Commonlands.
Use 'help race guides' if you do not know the route from your city.
Levels 5 through 12
Crushbone: north from Greater Faydark.
Befallen: take the free Rift to Commonlands, then run to its southern line.
Outdoor alternatives: Commonlands, Field of Bone, or Greater Faydark.
Levels 12 through 20
Estate of Unrest: travel from Greater Faydark to Butcherblock, and then to
Dagnor's Cauldron.
Upper Guk: enter from Innothule Swamp.
Oasis: travel south through North Ro.
Levels 20 through 30
Solusek's Eye, also called Sol A: travel from Nektulos to Lavastorm, then
enter the lair.
High Keep: reach Highpass from Kithicor or East Karana, then enter the keep.
Upper Guk, Unrest, and South Karana remain useful alternatives.
Levels 30 through 40
Lower Guk: descend through Upper Guk; good from the late twenties onward.
Nagafen's Lair, also called Sol B: enter from Lavastorm or through Sol A;
try it in the middle thirties.
City of Mist unlocks at the Rift at 30, but is usually an upper-thirties hunt.
The Hole unlocks at 35, but save its deeper areas for later.
Levels 40 through 50
Lower Guk, Sol B, City of Mist, Kedge Keep, and the Hole.
Sebilis: free from the Void Rift at 45; usually begin around level 47.
Ssraeshza Temple: free at level 47; this is a difficult stretch destination.
Kedge: travel from Greater Faydark to Butcherblock, then to Dagnor's
Cauldron. Enter Kedge beneath the water.
Bring water breathing before attempting Kedge.
KUNARK OUTDOOR ROUTE --------------------
From the Butcherblock docks, use 'board' to take the ship to Timorous Deep. Run to Ogre Island and board the ship to the Overthere. The Overthere works at several level ranges; Skyfire, reached from its western zone line, is a high-level alternative. Use 'disembark' when you want to leave a ship.
SURVIVAL HINTS --------------
Keep spells, skills, food, healing, and equipment current. Carry an escape such as Origin or Into the Void. Invisibility can make long runs safer, but ordinary invisibility does not fool undead, some creatures see invisibility, and attacking breaks it. Use invisibility versus undead where appropriate, and never assume an invisible trip is completely safe.
