Upgrade
Command reference: This page documents the in-game upgrade command.
UPGRADE COMMAND ----------------------------
The upgrade command allows you to increase an item's radiance using Small Radiant Shards, potentially upgrading it to the next quality tier.
SYNTAX ----------------------------------
upgrade <item>
REQUIREMENTS ----------------------------------
1. The item must be a weapon, armor, or jewelry 2. The item must be unequipped (not currently worn) 3. The item must be below Legendary quality (quality < 2) 4. You must have at least one Small Radiant Shard in your inventory
or inside a container you're carrying
HOW IT WORKS ----------------------------------
Each Small Radiant Shard adds 5%% radiance to your item.
When you use the upgrade command, you'll see:
- The item's current quality and radiance percentage
- How many shards you have available
- The maximum number of shards you can use
The command will prompt you to confirm how many shards to use.
UPGRADING QUALITY ----------------------------------
When radiance reaches 100%%, the item automatically upgrades:
- Normal → Epic
- Epic → Legendary
Any radiance beyond 100%% carries over to the next tier.
Example: An Epic item at 85%% radiance gains 20 shards (100%% radiance).
- It upgrades to Legendary
- The extra 5%% is lost (Legendary items don't track radiance)
EXAMPLES ----------------------------------
upgrade sword
Upgrades the sword in your inventory
upgrade runed
Upgrades an item with "runed" in its name
upgrade {mylabel}
Upgrades an item you've labeled (see help label)
IMPORTANT NOTES ----------------------------------
- You must unequip the item before upgrading
- Shards are consumed during the upgrade process
- Shards can be in your inventory or inside containers you're carrying
- The upgrade process saves your inventory automatically
- Epic items can only gain 100%% radiance (they cap when upgrading to Legendary)
FINDING SHARDS ----------------------------------
Small Radiant Shards drop from rare spawn NPCs. The drop rate is better if the enemy is difficult (red or yellow con).
